British power pop / punk group active during the late 1970s.

The band formed in 1977, using the name [i]Dole Q[/i]. In 1978, the band changed their name to [i]Skunks[/i] and played shows opening for [a=Buzzcocks], [a=Police, The] and [a=XTC], amongst others.

While opening for [a=Generation X (4)], [i]Skunks[/i] were discovered by [a=Pete Townshend], [a=Keith Moon] and [a=Alex Harvey] who brought them to Eel Pie Island Records to record a single in 1978. They also played on the [a=John Peel] show.

[i]Skunks[/i] would change their name once again to [i]Craze[/i] when they got signed to [i]Cobra[/i], a division of [i]EMI[/i]

Not to be confused with [a=Skunks (2)], a punk band from Austin, Texas, or [a=Skunks, The], a third wave ska group from Washington, D.C.
