Born and raised in East Los Angeles, Dan´s interest in DJing was sparked by backyard house parties thrown by crews in his surrounding Latino neighborhoods. These parties were half influenced by Los Angeles radio - that was at the time dominated by hip-hop, early house, electro and new wave - and half by an inherently musical Latino culture. Dex was also part of a loyal fan base that supported much of the house and techno coming out of Detroit. Through regular contact with Submerge, they established a firm relationship. When the time came for Submerge to open the new 3000 facility, Dex made his move to the motor city. In 2002 Dex produced the fifth installment of Submerge's Depth Charge series, showcasing his ability to seamlessly mix through house, techno and electro.
