Québec-based entertainment company, founded by Guy Laliberté. World-renowned for their creative live shows.

In 1984 "Cirque Du Soleil" is born with the assistance of the Québec government, as part of the celebrations surrounding the 450th anniversary of Jacques Cartier’s arrival in Canada. The first production, "Le Grand Tour" debuts in the small Québec town of Gaspé, and is then performed in 10 other cities throughout the province. In June 1984 they released their first 7" Single [url=http://www.discogs.com/La-Fanfafonie-Le-Cirque-Du-Soleil-Le-Funambule/release/4436898]"Le Cirque Du Soleil / Le Funambule"[/url], performed by their band [a=La Fanfafonie].

Since 2002 they have been releasing their music on their own label imprint [l25757] (also known as Cirque Du Soleil Records).
