US soul singer (b. 1939, Orlando, Florida) mainly known for her [l=Jubilee] and [l=Sansu] 45's. A connoisseurs artist, many of her records are higly sought after.

As a teenager she worked as a mate for [a=Big Maybelle] who encouraged her to start singing. First recording released 1962. Her major hit was her 1963 cover of Solomon Burke's hit "Cry to me".

Betty Harris still tours and performs worldwide.
