An Introduction to Huck…… A folk law hero in the USA but on the underground dance music scene, DJ Huckleberry Finn is a legend to some, a gentleman and total nice guy to others. A godfather to the music scene, that has taken his career over the last 22 years and doesn’t look like its ever stopping. His love and passion for music and for what he does is compendious, yet he still sees himself as one of the crowd and that’s why, along with his outstanding technical ability, he rocks any venue. Jingo alongside superstars of the scene, including Roger Sanchez , Todd Terry, Norman Jay MBE, Soul Avengerz, Seamus Haji, Hoxton Whores, Smokin Jo, CJ Mackintosh, Shinichi Osawa, Bodyrox, Dave Spoon, Jeremy Healy, Grooverider, Fabio, Judge Jules, and many many more.
Having traveled all the five continents of the world, playing at gigs holding from 50 people to events holding 20,000 people, he has taken his talent and expression on the turntables with him. Highly respected by many professionals in the industry, he was quoted by Tony Portillo in his book ‘RAW’, as the DJ’s DJ. Sony, Japan, spoke of him as the most humble, polite and talented artist, from the UK, they have ever worked with.
Over the years he has run the well established UK dance label ‘Open-Dor Records’ dance label to Polydor records and has also had his own independent labels too . . Past releases include mega hits such as ‘Nightcrawlers - Push the Feeling’, ‘Kim English – Nightlife’ ,‘Sophie Ellis Bextor – Murder on the Dancefloor’-‘Wildchild-Renegade Master to name just a few.
Being on the cutting edge of the scene huck was A&R to Polydor records dance division and was the founder of many artists’, including The Artful Dodger (acclaimed within the text on the back of their worldwide hit ‘Rewind’), Craig David (holding a Platinum Disc in recognition), DJ Deekline, Daniel Beddingfield,Modjo, the list goes on.
Working in many London record shops over the past 20 years, from ‘Unity’ to ‘Release the Groove’ and his most famous outing at the Mecca of all house music, alongside Black Market Records, was ‘Uptown Records’ in Soho, where he was for six years. Black Market even tried to poach him away! DJ Huckleberry Finn’s productions have been on many compilations and remixes, including high profile artists from the likes of Daniel Beddingfield to Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Lighthouse Family, Ms Dynamite, Eminem and kylie.to his most recent ministry of sounds bassline classics ‘Kristine Blond –loveshy remix’
He has been a DJ on numerous radio stations throughout the UK, from pirate stations to legitimate stations, including a guest mix on BBC Radio 1. He currently has a regular spot on the ever-so-popular London station ‘Passion FM’ (website: www.passion918fm.com) and can be heard every Friday afternoon from 11am till 3pm GMT with ‘Huckleberrys House’. He promotes his own nights called ‘M.A.D’, ‘One For The Girls’ and in the past has promoted events for Notting Hill Carnival, to nights at the famous Ministry of Sound.

He has graced the decks of all London and many UK major venues, past and present, including Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Koko (formally Camden Palace), Turnmills, The Cross and 100's more.
The music Huck plays is right across the board from old to new, funky to filthy, house to breaks, it all depends on the crowd and what the promoter wants.
He has been publicly nominated as the Best Classic House DJ 2007 at the Old School Music Awards.
Huckleberry’s knowledge is sort after by the media for reviews, charts and interviews. In the past he has done the official chart for DJ Mag and also did record reviews for I.DJ Mag.He has helped advise the Observer newspaper on a article about the uk scene. He has been interviewed for magazines in France, Japan, USA, & Poland to name a few. The British Dance Media and TV groups use to contact him often for his advice and hints on what’s hot and what’s not
As a DJ he has just about seen it and done it all, but still is seeing and doing, his saying is "I haven’t even started yet"!! How much more there is to come? Well, you have to wait and see!
Currently working on a solo album with music to represent the last 20 years in his house, plus his most recent project working with Lucarelli at Deep Red Studios to be released soon.
