His teacher was the legendary [l=Motown]'s bassist [a=James Jamerson]. Very sought after session musician, he has played with [a=Marvin Gaye], [a=Tina Turner], [a=Frank Zappa], [a=George Clinton], [a=Annie Lennox], [a=Edgar Winter], [a=Aaron Neville] and [a=Elton John]. He became the bassist of [a=Wham!]'s backing band and later, [a=George Michael]'s. He recorded one solo album and a single duet with [a=Amii Stewart].
