American R&B/soul jazz guitarist who played with a plethora of artist including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Donny Hathaway, Roberta Flack, King Kurtis, Miles Davis and many others.

His career started as a studio session guitarist for Atlantic Records and have reputedly recorded over 2500 sessions in his lifetime.

One of his most known guitar riff´s can be heard on the opening of Aretha Franklin´s "Respect".
