Ajax, born Adrian Thomas, is an Australian mash-up DJ and Producer well known for his musical irreverence and cut and paste mixing styles. He has been playing at various clubs and parties nationally and internationally for well over 12 years now. Since the days of early rave and trance, Ajax has been busy pushing and developing the latest sounds in house music and NRG.
It all started musically for Ajax from the young age of 14 when he played the guitar in various punk rock bands, but not too long after, he fell into electronic music influenced by the likes of legendary British bands such as Depeche Mode, New Order and Stone Roses.
During the early nineties, Ajax caught the bug for the whole techno-trance sound, discovering such labels as Phuture Wax, Time Unlimited, Phoenix Rising, Noom and Prolekult.
Ajax is the co-owner and resident hard-house DJ at Hard Kandy, a weekly friday night affair at Melbourne's Billboard club, show-casing the best local and interstate DJ talent with regular overseas guests including Karim, Dave Randall, RR, Fierce, Nick Sentience, Baby Doc and SJ.
In 2006 he toured the UK, USA and France and released the CD package "Spin City" through Tinted Records. He has also been featured on many occasions including on Ministry Of Sound's "Mashed #1" and "Mashed #2" along with the Bang Gang DJ's, of which he is a founding member.
Thomas was crossing a road in Parkville, an inner Melbourne suburb, in the early hours of 28 February 2013 when he was hit by a truck and died at the scene.
