From 2002 to 2005, he worked on several dance projects such as Crescent and Xandoo (with Lydia, the last E-rotic vocalist as frontwoman).
In April 2005, David Brandes openly admitted to have manipulated the German charts by buying a large amount of the [a=Vanilla Ninja]'s and [a=Gracia]'s last singles (produced by himself). After this scandal, the singles were banned from charts, Swiss broadcaster SF DRS dissolved their contracts with him, and German broadcaster NDR excluded him from the German delegation for Kyev.
In this time he dated [a=Gracia] Baur who stayed with him during the scandal.
He has been producing [a=Shanadoo] since 2006.
