American R&B and soul outfit, & one of the [l1723] signature acts in the 1960's.

Originally "The Rhythm Rockers," they became "The All Stars", & in 1961 they were recommended to [a32499] who signed them to his label [l=Harvey (2)].

When Fuqua's labels were taken over by Motown's [a=Berry Gordy], Jr. Walker & The All Stars became members of the Motown Records, recording for their [l44480] label in 1964.

While 1965 saw the release of their signature hit "Shotgun," they remained active on the charts through to 1972, disbanding in 1979.
