Music always played an important role in D-RASHID'S life. He began spinning when he was 17 years old. At the age of 18 he started performing as dj at cafe Madeliefje which was owned by his brother.
Two years later he had his first residency at 'Club Raffles' and 'Sinners in Heaven' in Amsterdam. In those days his style could be described as a mixture of US garage and UK soulful house.
D-Rashid felt inspired by DJ's, producers and artists like Kenny Dope Gonzales (Masters At Work) , DJ Spen and Todd Terry. It was then, when he started to get interested in Latin orientated house music. D-Rashid fell in love with Latin House music and it was only natural for him to mix his performance with live a percussion show of Andrei Russo.
