Though mostly known for his work with bands like [a=Deep Purple] (1970-1976), [a=Rainbow], [a=Whitesnake], [a=Iron Maiden], [a=Black Sabbath] and [a=Blue Öyster Cult], Birch also produced numerous British rock bands such as [a=Fleetwood Mac] (1969-1973) before retiring in 1992.
