The band Saybia was formed in the Danish town Nyborg in 1993. The name Saybia originated from the name of a Sabian cymbal. At the time the band consisted of Søren Huss, Thomas Dahl, Jeppe Knudsen og Palle Sørensen.

In 1998, the guitarist Thomas Dahl quit the band and was replaced by Sebastian Sandstrøm. Additionally the band was expanded by keyboard player Jess Jensen.

In 2000, the band moved to the Danish capital Copenhagen, where the band began working and rehearsing on new songs in their own studio.

In June 2001 Saybia got a record deal with EMI and released an EP consisting of 6 tracks. Songs like "Fools Corner" and "The Day After Tomorrow" got massive airplay on Danish radio station "P3".

On the 21. January 2002, the debut album "The Second You Sleep" was released. The album wrote history as it was the first debuting rock album, which went straight no. 1 on the Danish charts. Furthermore the single "The Second You Sleep" was released in Belgium, Finlan, Germany Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

At the Danish Music Awards the band won three awards; Album Of The Year", "Group Of The Year" and "Singer Of The Year".

On the 13. September 2004 Saybia released their second album "These Are The Days". Like their debut album, the album went straight no. 1. After the release, the band went on an intensive 6 month Europe tourné. The tourné was a success as all venues in the Netherlands were sold out, including the gig at Paradiso in Amsterdam.

On the 27. August 2007, the band's long awaited third album "Eyes On The Highway" was released. Compared to the previous two albums, the album didn't receive praising reviews. For example the Danish music magazine Gaffa gave the album 3 stars out of 6.
