Jazz trumpeter, also known as "Little Jazz" (born: January 30, 1911, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - died: February 26, 1989, Valley Stream, Long Island, New York). Prominent soloist with the bands of [a=Fletcher Henderson], [a=Gene Krupa] and [a=Artie Shaw] as well as featured in Norman Granz's Jazz at the Philharmonic events and a leader in his own name. Eldridge was dubbed the nick name "Little Jazz" by [a=Leon "Chu" Berry].
