Ted De Jong (born 10-02-1954 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) is a Dutch percussionist specializing in the traditional Indian drum, the tabla. In addition to playing traditional Indian music he also was a member of the Dutch folk and world music ensemble [a=Flairck] from 1980 until 1985. De Jong has also played with [a=Popol Vuh] in the 1980s and 1990s and has frequently collaborated with [a=Klaus Wiese]. Since 1987 he has been teaching tabla and Indian rhythm at the Codarts Academy (formerly the Rotterdam Conservatory).
