Empress is from Leeds in northern England. On the self-titled album, Empress was Nicola, Stewart and Matty. On the ep, Empress was Nicola, Stewart and Chris. Nicola, Stewart and Matty were [a=Boyracer], and Nicola and Stewart have both spent time in [a=Hood]. Chris is also [a=Halkyn]. After some shows with The Pastels, Empress signed to Stephen Pastel's [l=Geographic] label, via [l=Domino Recording Company Ltd.]. Then they came back to us in 2003. Stewart is no longer in Empress. Empress is now just Nicola and Chris. Chris lives in Wales, and they composed [r=390748] by taking the train back and forth. Since this album, Nicola moved to Australia.
