Born in Manchester, England, on 12 May, 1961, Billy is best known as the guitarist and, along with Ian Astbury, one of the remaining founding members of The Cult. Billy now lives in Los Angeles, California.
Billy started out in punk bands The Nosebleeds (with Stephen [a=Morrissey]), [a=Studio Sweethearts] (also known as [a=Slaughter And The Dogs]), Lonesome No More and [a=Theatre of Hate], before forming [a=Death Cult] with [a=Ian Astbury] which turned into [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Cult,+The]The Cult[/url]. [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Cult,+The]The Cult[/url] broke up in March in 1995, and reunited in 1999, with another small break in 2004.
Billy has played in [a=Coloursøund] (with [a=Mike Peters] of ([url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Alarm,+The]The Alarm[/url]), [a=Craig Adams] ([url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Mission,+The]The Mission[/url]) and [a=Scott Garrett] (ex- drummer of [url=http://www.discogs.com/artist/Cult,+The]The Cult[/url])), Dead Men Walking (with [a=Mike Peters], [a=Glen Matlock] ([a=Sex Pistols]), Slim Jim Phantom ([a=Stray Cats]) and [a=Kirk Brandon] ([a=Spear of Destiny]) and the [a=Cardboard Vampyres] with [a=Jerry Cantrell]. In 2006 Billy worked on a side project called [a=Circus Diablo] with [a=Billy Morrison], [a=Ricky Warwick] and former [a=Fuel (3)] front man [a=Brett Scallions] on bass.
