Anal Cunt (aka A.C.) have been, since their beginning in 1988, one of the most offensive and lyrically extreme bands to ever arise from the deep undergrounds of Metal. While Seth Putnam (vocals), Mike Mahan (guitars) and Tim Morse (drums) all did have talent and were more than able to play their instruments (most of the starting and following line-up also took part in various sideprojects), they decided to display their worst sides in this band: Seth said that they wanted to be the "most non-musical band in the world." - and, to some extent, they succeeded.

Creating incredibly short, frustrating (and mostly annoying) noise-Grindcore tracks with titles such as "The Word Homophobic is Gay", "Our Band Is Wicked Sick (We Have the Flu)", and "Music Sucks", the band has achieved it's own 'musical' style over their many years of performance.

In 1994, A.C. released "Everyone Should Be Killed", their first major-label (Earache) full-lenght: a collection of 58 destructive, very far from being audible by a normal human being 'songs'. It's follow-ups, "Top 40 Hits" and "40 More Reasons to Hate Us" were a big dissapointement even for the small fanbase of the band, which then released "I Like It When You Die": a 52-track album featuring the band's best and most offensive songs yet, such as "You're Gay", "Valujet", " Ha, Ha Your Wife Left You" and "You Sell Cologne".

While the band was never able to repeat the same 'success' (if we can call it that) as with "I Like It When You Die", they tried a pseudo-experimental album in 1998 for their seven-album Earache record deal: "Picnic of Love" - a collection of partially acoustic, unusually named ("Greed Is Something That We Don't Need", "In My Heart There's a Star Named After You"), ballads which all end with insane grindcore-trademark brutality.

Seth Putnam died of a suspected heart attack on June 11, 2011. He was 43.
