Belgium, 1977 : Yke had just recovered from the split of Bastard, which made history being the very first band to perform punk rock outside the USA (in the wake of The Stooges and MC5). Brian James had flew back in UK to form The Damned. His pal Louis (Royal Flash) and him wondered : "Time has come to get ourselves aware; are we ready to fight?" That's how Raxola decided to make the scene. They were the first so-called "punk" band in Belgium performing real raw power pop tunes. Guts and harmonies: the cocktail took Belgium by storm. "84 Man" became an hymn for the generation. The album released in 1978 by Philips has become legendary and Raxola gained great popularity throughout Belgium, France and Germany.

In 1979 Yke and Louis were working on new material, within funky influences enlarging the punkpop basis. But Philips broke up the contract. That's how Yke, Louis and Snikkey splitted in 1980 into other musical experiences.

Finally, Raxola regained fame and international success through the "Bloody Belgium" and "Bloodstains across Belgium" series.

In 2003, Raxola reissued their album on CD and sold it out within 2 months. Nowadays they are back with a new single and work on a new album. Legends never die
