American jazz singer.

Born : May 13, 1911 in Homestead, Pennsylvania.

Died : April 07, 1987 in New York City, New York.

She is best known for her Swing renditions of Scottish-type ballads, most notably "Loch Lomond". Maxine appeared in several films, including [i]St. Louis Blues[/i] and [i]Going Places[/i]. She continued to perform until shortly before her death.
