Born: in Bahia, Brazil.
Tutty Moreno, drummer and percussionist, was born in the north of brasil and has been an important figure in brazilian popular music from the days of bossa nova through to the jazz influenced fusion of the 1970's, 1980's and beyond.
Tutty has recorded with all the finest brazilian artists, including [a=Joyce], [a=Caetano Veloso] and his sister [a=Maria Bethania], [a=Gal Costa], [a=Hermeto Pascoal], [a=Gilberto Gil] and [a=João Donato] (to name but a few). He has also worked with many respected jazz musicians such as [a=Ernie Watts], [a=Larry Willis] and [a=Claus Ogerman].
From his base in Rio de Janeiro, Tutty still regularly records as one of brasil's premier percussionists.
He is married to singer/songwriter [a=Joyce], who's band he plays in. Their daughter [a=Clara Moreno] is also a singer, and Joyce has another daughter who is a singer [a=Ana Martins] (aka [a=Anané]) who is married to [a=Louie Vega].
