Phooka, aka Francesco Maddalena, class 1978, is the ufficial mother of Homework and he’s a member of the Beatperminute records the new independent label for minimal techno music. Fascinated by noises and irregular rithms, he gets close to elettronic music first with IDM and sperimental productions and then with techno/minimal techno, without leaving the former ones. He followed the evolution of the techno/electro scene in Rome and detached from it with some productions affected by north American and german influences (Akufen, twerk, sleeparchive, and all the m-inus label ) focalizing towards a more complete sound research (expecially pads and basses) and a more modern beat with less acid and 90’s influences. He dreams about Berlin but lives in Rome in a studio/house with an unreliable, useless and noisy pc as roommate, mac powerbook and audio/video machines.
