British vocal group.

When Avon Sisters, the step-sisters Valerie and Elaine Murtagh were joined by Raymond S. Adams, they became The Avons. [a=Norrie Paramor] brought them to [l=Columbia] where they signed their recording conract. Their biggest hit is their first recording, the cover of "Seven Little Girls (Sitting In The Back Seat)", reaching No.3 on the U.K. singles' charrt. Their career lasted til the mid 60's. [a=Valerie Murtagh] became a succesful songwriter with her professional partner [a=Harold Spiro].

Do not confuse the British Avons with the 50's doo wop group [a=Avons, The (6)] or the Nashville r'n'b female group of the early 60's, [a=Avons, The (4)].
