Born: 20th May 1955, Strijen, South Holland, Netherlands.
Dutch rock photographer, videomaker and film director.
Corbijn began his career in 1975, photographing [a267937], then moved to England in 1979 to work as a photographer for the [i]NME[/i]. His first steps into video direction for [a=Palais Schaumburg] and [a=Propaganda] led to a long career in the medium. Best known for his photo and video work for [a=U2] and [a=Depeche Mode].
On 17 May 2007 Corbijn's first feature film, [i]Control[/i], opened to acclaimed reviews at the Cannes Film Festival. The [a=Joy Division] biopic has since gone on to win many awards.
