American percussionist, born July 16, 1950 in Teaneck (New Jersey), † Teaneck January 9 2013. He studied percussion of all the various genres such as [i]swing, bebop, jazz, latin sound[/i]. He has collaborated with [i]Herbie Hancock, Alphonso Johnson, Charles Mingus, Dizzy Gillespie, Gato Barbieri, Isley Brothers[/i]. In Italy he was working with [i]Pino Daniele, James Senese, Antonello Venditti, Lucio Dalla, Lucio Battisti, Edoardo Bennato, Gigi D'Alessio, Renato Zero[/i] and with progressive rock bands such as [i]Napoli Centrale, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, PFM[/i]. However, his first single was released in the 1984 on 12" disco-mix through a small independent roman label: [l=Best Record] of [a=Claudio Casalini]. Furthered his studies on the interaction of musical genres from different ethnic groups making [i]Potter's Ethno Live Sound[/i] and in 1992 he founded the group [i]Potter Percussion[/i]. In 1993 [a=Tullio De Piscopo] brings with him at [i]Sanremo Festival[/i] with the song [i]Qui Gatta Ci Cova[/i].m In 1998 he released his first album [i]Jean's Highlife[/i] all recorded live during a concert.
