Alexey Monakhov was born in 1983 in Moscow, Russia. His interest in electronic music grew as he listened to Moscow's radio station "Stantsiya" (106.8 FM). After a short while, he started experimenting with the sound. He began to write music in 1997. Shortly after that, he started a project with Anton Chernikov (aka Nile) called "Night System".
He went back to writing solo-tracks in 2003. His first solo work under his alias of "Atlantic Waves" titled "Little Love" got included in a mix-compilation CD of "Atmosphere Records" (Russia) titled "Atmosphere 1", which also included works of top Russian progressive trance producers like Vadim Zhukov, Sound Fiction, Alexander Polyakov (ex-PPK) and others. Shortly after that, his track called "Sunset Breeze" got noticed and supported by Markus Schulz on his weekly radio show "Global DJ Broadcast". Sunset Breeze eventually got released by Schulz on one of the vinyls from the "Coldhabour Selections" series.
Around the same period of time, track "Yellow" - written by Alex Monakhov and Vadim Zhukov - also recieved support from top trance dj's. In the end of 2005, Alex's solo track called "Moonball" gets played numerous times on Armin's "A State Of Trance" and Schulz's "Global DJ Broadcast".
Throughout the course of his musical career so far, his tracks have been seen in playlists of Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren, Perry O'Neil, Kenneth Thomas, Andrew Bennett, Niklas Harding, Ronski Speed.
In the mean time, Alex is planning on releasing a vinyl on Motion Music.
