In 1982 Brian began DJing and promoting parties in venues that never seemed big enough for the crowds gathered outside.
Highly regarded by fans and peers alike, Brian saw to move his parties to bigger venues across the city and add names that are synonymous with Chicago “House Music” to the roster. Throughout the 80’s & 90’s, Brian and names such as Lil Louis, Terry Hunter, DJ Rush and Frankie Knuckles (to name a few), headlined some of the most memorable parties of those decades.
In 1995 Brian started the B-Side Café and thus began a whole new scene for “House Music”. “The B-Side was the flip side of the A-Side of the record. Everyone was playing the A-Side, but the B-Side was the side people forgot about”, Brian explains. It became a movement and thanks to his ingenuity continues to flourish now.
Highly regarded by both DJ Magazine and fans of house, disco, funk, boogie and dance music, Brian saw fit to start his own “House Music” label. In 2005 Unified Records was born with such artist as Peven Everett, Mr. Ali, Glen Underground and Gene Hunt all releasing chart topping hits.
In 2006 Unified Records was named best up and coming label by 5 Magazine and the label had the #1 party that year at the Winter Music Conference, in Miami.
