Got Formed by [a=Alton Ellis] after [a=John Holt] joined [a=Paragons, The]. After leaving from [l=Studio One] due to too less payment for his older recordings like [r=1481529], he signed a contract with [a=Arthur "Duke" Reid]. He formed a trio to back him called The Flames, originally his brother Leslie Ellis, David "Baby G" Gordon and a guy called Ronnie, later on people like [a=Lloyd Charmers] and [a=Winston Jarrett]. Memberership would fluctuate. Ellis quickly scored a major hit with the antiviolence plea "Dance Crasher," and the following year, he released what was arguably the first rocksteady single, "Get Ready - Rock Steady." When Alton Ellis moved to England in 1973, all his band projects in Jamaica stopped.
