Reggae expert and author who started his carreer running London record shop Daddy Kool mid seventies. Worked freelance for [l=Island Records] compiling Reggae & Jamaican music releases. In 1993 he was one of the founders of the highly respected [l=Blood & Fire] re-issue label.
Barrow's extensive knowledge of reggae was the catalyst for the creation of the Jamaican Reggae Archive Project which is funded and owned by [a=Chris Blackwell] with Barrow as de facto curator. Wrote The Rough Guide to Reggae with [a=Peter Dalton (2)].
He also started and ran the [l=Hot Pot] label from 2004 to 2007. His work includes writing liner notes, compiling re-issues and other contributions for labels like [l=Pressure Sounds] and [l=Trojan].
