Full Devil Jacket was formed in 1993, and the band had a series of successful releases up until 2000, when Josh Brown suffered a heroin overdose while on tour. Resusitated by his girlfriend, Brown later stated that he felt "no peace" while working on the band's second album, and subsequently quit Full Devil Jacket. Removing himself from the music industry for a time, Brown took a job as a dishwasher at a nursing home and married his girlfriend Adrienne. He began attending a local church and eventually became a Christian, teaming up with a guitarist from his Church, Gregg Hionis, to record some demo material for [l=Essential Records (3)]. Day Of Fire was soon born, and the band released their first self-titled album in 2004.
