Burnt Weeping Eyes were a gothic band from Palmerston North, New Zealand, formed in November 1993. Initially calling themselves Blind Idiot God, they swapped the Lovecraftian reference to one inspired by Percy Shelly when it was discovered that the name had already been used by another band.

Comprised first of [a=Jason Just] (guitar/vocals) and [a=Mark Grady] (guitars), they were joined by Steve Densham (drums/percussion) and Adrian Dittmar (bass). In 1995, Pete Gore replaced Steve Densham on drums & percussion, and the band recorded twenty demo songs at The Stomach. Adrian Dittmar was the next member to leave the band in 1996, with Jason Just taking over the role of bass and cementing the group as a trio.

In 1998, Burnt Weeping Eyes agreed to disband after performing at the Wellington Goth Ball (7th February 1998) alongside acts [a=Disjecta Membra], [a=FearVLoathinc], [a=Reserved For Emily] and Flinch.

Jason Just and Mark Grady then went on to form [a=Shemsu Hor]. Pete Gore is a farmer.
