Derehctub is the alias used by Jaxson Payne when recording dance floor orientated projects. Derehctub began in 2002 and projects have progressed from a very full, lo-fi, minutely cut and cacophonous 8bit sound – to a more distinctive modern sound, experimenting with influences from techno, electro and garage. Music made specifically for DJing on the dance floor that can still withstand close repeated listening.
The Derehctub name was also used by Jaxson for a string of live solo shows between 2003 and 2008. Using a midi drum kit to control sounds from his PC, Jaxson would create live dance music with intricacy rarely seen outside of a computer and with no backing tracks. Mostly, however, this live show shared few similarities with recorded Derehctub projects and should be viewed as a separate experience.
