American songwriter, publisher, music producer and artist manager. Years active: 1958 to 1982. Recipient of Songwriters Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.

Co-owner of Aldon Music with partner, [a=Al Nevins] working out of the offices of the famed Brill Building, in New York's Times Square, launching the careers of [a=Bobby Darin], [a=Tony Orlando], [a=Carole King], [a=Neil Diamond],among others and creating the music for TV acts, [a=Monkees, The] and [a=Archies, The].

Owned 3 record labels: [l=Chairman], [l=Calendar Records] and [l=Kirshner].

Executive producer in 1972 for ABC's "In Concert" and then creating his own live concert show entitled, "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert", which aired on Saturday late night's over the NBC-TV network from 1973 to 1981.
