Austrian author, language scientist and cybernetics specialist, born 5 October 1935 in Vienna, Austria. From 1954 to 1959 he also was a professional jazz musician and played trumpet in Wirkliche Jazzband. He was considered a leader of the 'Wiener Gruppe' (1954–1964), some of the most radical activists of the Modern/Postmodern movement in Europe. Due to a pending lawsuit because of 'blasphemy' in Austria in 1969 he moved to exile in Berlin, where he studied informatics and led his restaurant 'Exil' until 1986. From 1992 to 2004 he was Professor for aesthetics at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He is married to [a=Ingrid Wiener], one of his daughters, Sarah Wiener, has become a well known cook in Berlin and on German TV.
