Acoustic folk-rocker Andrew Cash, born in Toronto in 1962, formed L'Etranger with Chuck Angus in 1980. The band broke up six years later and Cash became a solo act, playing at a hotel in downtown Toronto. His first album appeared in 1988 on Island Records. Time and Place was followed by Boomtown a year later. Cash signed with MCA in 1993; Hi appeared the same year. - John Bush
