Mickey Mouse is a comic animal cartoon character who has become an icon for The Walt Disney Company. Mickey Mouse was created in 1928 by [a=Walt Disney] and Ub Iwerks, and voiced by Walt Disney. The Walt Disney Company celebrates his birth as November 18, 1928 upon the release of "Steamboat Willie".

Mickey was originally voiced by [a=Walt Disney] himself, but in 1946 the honor was passed to [a=Jimmy MacDonald]. Although Walt voiced Mickey again for the introductions of the original "Mickey Mouse Club" (1954-1959) TV series and the "Fourth Anniversary Show" episode of the "Disneyland" TV series aired on September 11, 1958. From 1983 the voice of Mickey has been [b]Wayne Allwine[/b], who died on May 18, 2009. Since June 2009, Mickey has been voiced by Bret Iwan.
