Stuart was the Import buyer at Manchester record shop Eastern Bloc from 1991 until 1996. At night he was resident at Leeds Bar/Club The Faversham where he played the main set Friday & Saturday nights. Danny Tenaglia and David Morales played there with Stuart warming up for them around 1993 - Stuart was instrumental in bringing them before they were so well known. Stuart always played really slow around 121 bpm all night and a his own unique sound. He championed many of David Morales's best dubs and Danny Tenaglia's too, his favourite label was Tribal/Twisted.
He worked in the studio with Faversham resident Phil Faversham (now A&R for Hed Kandi/MOS)
Stuart played in The Hacienda and Cream, but preferred to stay and work his weekly residency at The Faversham in Leeds.
He is now teaching design in Lancaster.
