Konrad is the musical expression of Rock Island, Illinois resident Jeffrey Konrad. Konrad's music puzzles together a unique brand of vocal poetics with a sorted sonic DNA that exhibits strains of indie, folk and electronic.
In 2008 Konrad released his debut album Loose Canyons. The album charted on the CMJ Top-200 and garnered extensive critical praise. Beats and Blood called the album “engaging”, CMJ called it “wholly unique”, First Coast News called it "masterful intellectual slacker pop" and CreamTeam.TV called the album “totally addictive.”
Now Konrad is launching his second solo effort titled Shadow Boxing. The album is an eclectic endeavor which demonstrates personal growth and sonic refinement, while still obtaining the quirky experimental fearlessness the studio savant is known for. Recorded over the course of two years, Shadow Boxing is a panoramic view of a songwriter documenting the ups and downs of everyday and not-so-everyday routine. Combining acoustic instruments with analog electronics, the album showcases a masterful range of songwriting and stellar production. Various guest horn, violin, banjo and pedal steel players all make appearances on Konrad’s Shadow Boxing.
Shadow Boxing is a quirky and catchy electronic pop album that displays a diversity of sound which transcends the conventional.
