American soul and funk singer/songwriter and producer, born in Arkansas, but moved to Compton, California. Not confused with soul singer [a=Freddie Hughes]. Recorded some records for [l=Vee Jay Records], [l=Brunswick] and other labels in the 60s. He still lives in Compton but has not been active in music since the 1970s.
