The Surfmen were a collection of well known west coast jazz musicians assembled by [a=David L. Miller], the owner of the Somerset label. Charged with imitating the popular Exotica sound of albums by [a=Martin Denny] and [a=Arthur Lyman], The Surfmen recorded two albums for Miller in the early sixties, who issued them and reissued them under various names.
