aka "Shirley" (1952 - 2001) R.I.P. Lead vocalist and frontman for the 1970's Australian band "Skyhooks". While Skyhooks was the country's number one band he became a household name and had a number of solo hits during that period.

After he left the band he started a career in television as the compere of his own children's TV show "Shirl's Neighbourhood". He did a stint of hosting the weekly "Lotto" draws, breakfast radio shows and later featured on the do-it-yourself" TV show "Our House". He was well qualified from learning his trade in carpentry prior to joining Skyhooks".

He continued up to his untimely death in a helicopter crash in Queensland. He reinvented himself and his career several times, but despite his many successes, he always kept his feet firmly on the ground.
