Derek(demondo) Born in the UK But has his roots in Dominica Delices/ Laroche,

visits as much as he can while he travelled and worked in Martinuque and Guadeloupe.

Demondos first Instrument was the Violin. He carried on learning and understood the value of his then Instrument playing with the school orchestras and touring at different schools.

Later in life he joined various bands playing Bass guitar for various groups & playing as a session musician. He then started to make his own demos. This certainly helped him to learn the basics of sound, and sound channelling.

Demondo is his production name meaning ("of the world") and he has been working with top reggae /roots / dub masters since the late seventies, backing Artists from Jamaica and the UK as a session bass player and later in the years to play various other Instruments.

When he started the two record labels: Lymelyte records & Heritage records, he never quite got the sound that he wanted from those engineers who did not understand the reggae or Soul vibes & Grooves He was trying to put across. So he decided to mix himself after watching various good engineers mix his productions well.

At the present he's still mixing, mainly in Europe and the Caribbean, now having time to go into the studios to make his own music. At the moment he decided to work with European Artists in their own language but with a UK production vibe.

Demondo has been working in France since 1993 mixing for the top Hip-hop / French Rnb & Reggae Artists, as Guadeloupe & Martinique are French departments, he frequents there regularly working and mixing for the locals and record companies. When he has the time, he also teaches the young engineers the basics of Engineering. At this moment in time he's concentrating on helping bands internationally, in the Caribbean, Africa and the European Community, showing them the easiest route to their 1st Recordings at a fraction of the cost.

Demondo is very much involved with a p.a. system based in London call Lymelyte Concert in the UK, handling and delivering from 1.000 watts to 100.000 watts of pure power which is now in its 6th year.

Currently playing Bass for The Reggae Regulars & Mixing Live and studio for The Twinkle Brothers
