Florenci Salesas i Plà is a Catalan musician and designer of animated cartoons, children books and maps, who was born in Sitges, on the 23 of June, 1962.
With regard to his musical past, we can say that he is an ex-member of the mythical Etnia, a wild improvisational music group from the eighties - with Alain Wergifosse, Juzz Ubach and Eli Gras - and the unpublished group of homemade electronic themes on ‘Barcelona’, hand in hand with Raul Hidalgo, amongst other individual experiences. He has composed sound tracks for animated shorts, spot advertising (from which the institutional music for the Elec. European of 1988, is quite a peculiar case) and piano accompaniment for silent cinema classics, such as Fritz Lang's `Metropolis´ and Buster keaton's 'Our Hospitality'.
His first work published by ‘La Olla’ was the `Músiques Fredes´ CD, kept in the fridge since 1991; a work of electronic music that he had to leave, an essential reference for minds under pressure, `La Olla´ friends. It was also the seed of Motor Combo in 2002 year, of which he is still one half, fighting with his beloved and longtime friend and artificial sister Eli Gras, down through the centuries. Motor Combo has recorded a mini CD 'El Avión'; played in several festivals, poetry meetings and any other kind of situations in Barcelona, Tarragona, Madrid and Santa Cristina (Huelva) and it is looking for new adventures in the future.
