Bien, aka Rich Marshall, met producer Matt James in 1993, where the pair found themselves equally driven by the desire to make music. Throughout highschool they worked with little resources, recording on 4-tracks and performing shows live in Boston whenever possible. By the time the graduated they had seperate paths to follow. Bien went to UMASS Amherst and Matt James to the Univ. of Miami on music scholarship. Despite years apart the two stayed in touch refusing to let their dream die. After the successful release of a simple 3-song EP in the late summer of 2002, Matt and Bien signed to indie label Dualsix Records in NYC and proceeded to record their first full-length. The result of that effort was "Eleven," a continuation of the groundwork displayed on the nationally aired 3-song EP. Eleven is a versatile hip-hop record built from creative originallity. Blending the heavy bass and drum lines of electronic music with a new breed of melody and rap vocals the album stays ture to the classic hip-hop form and structure.
